Top British jockey Tom Marquand returns to Rosehill this weekend for the G1 Tancred Stakes, where he partners the classy Dubai Honour.

Last time Marquand rode the William Haggas-trained Dubai Honour in Sydney, the pair recorded a dominant victory in the G1 Queen Elizabeth Stakes (2000m) at Randwick in 2023.

Since then, he has stretched out to 2400m to win the G1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud in France and finish second in both the G1 Grosser Preis von Baden in Germany and the G1 Hong Kong Vase.

While Dubai Honour is a frequent traveller, racing in six countries or regions (United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, United Arab Emirates, Australia and Germany) across three continents, it is nothing compared to the passport of his rider.

Marquand has crisscrossed the globe to begin 2025, racking up more than 100,000 kilometres (62,137 miles) as he has taken 146 rides in nine countries: Japan, United Kingdom, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, India, Qatar, Hong Kong and Australia.

His Rosehill mounts on Saturday will take that number past 150, with his other rides including Powers Of Opal in the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and a pair of horses he once rode against in Europe – Gear Up in the G3 Neville Sellwood Stakes (2000m) and Givemethebeatboys in the G3 Star Kingdom Stakes (2000m).

Check out his insane travel diary from January 1 to March 29:

Marquand returns to Dubai next weekend, where his rides include Deira Mile in the G1 Dubai Sheema Classic (2410m), before he again jets in to Sydney to ride Dubai Honour in the Queen Elizabeth Stakes and Desert Hero in the G1 Sydney Cup (3200m). ∎
