Forever Young and Sovereignty will finally meet in the Longines Breeders’ Cup Classic at Keeneland on Saturday, October 31, which is Sunday morning in Hong Kong and Japan. The race is scheduled for 6:16 pm Eastern.
The clash has been a year in the making. Forever Young, the Japan-trained champion, became the first Japan-trained winner of the Classic at Del Mar in 2025 and now chases a second straight win, a feat only Tiznow has managed. Sovereignty, the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes winner and reigning Horse of the Year, was scratched with a fever when the pair were due to meet last year.
