There is nothing quite like Genso in the racing world. The fun activities, classy restaurants and spacious interiors are one thing, but perhaps the most underrated aspect of the state-of-the-art new venue at Sha Tin Racecourse is that it is for the general public to enjoy – no membership required. Whether you are a racing fan, a first-time visitor to Hong Kong, or simply looking for a unique day out, Genso welcomes everyone.
Located on the third and fourth floors of Grandstand II at Sha Tin Racecourse, Genso blends the thrill of horse racing with interactive technology and contemporary dining. It is open on racedays, and visitors can book online in advance or simply reserve a table in person at the venue’s portal. The entire experience has been designed to be as approachable as it is impressive – a place where you can play, eat, learn and celebrate the sport in a totally new way.
Where Racing Meets Innovation
Genso forms part of the Hong Kong Jockey Club’s long-term Racecourse Master Plan – a multi-billion-dollar project that has transformed both Sha Tin and Happy Valley racecourses into world-class sports and entertainment destinations.
Nowhere captures that shift better than Genso. Spread across four dynamic levels, it combines phygital entertainment (physical + digital), immersive learning and stylish hospitality – all within steps of the racetrack.

Eat, Play And Explore
Start your visit at 3/F FUDO TOWN, a free-seating food hall alive with the sounds and smells of five Asian-style outlets – Ramen Bar, Kanpai Circle, Don Express, Yoshoku Tei and Sui-tsu Corner. Here you can dine while full-size horses stride across screens in dazzling motion in the 1:1 Digital Parade Ring. Nearby, the Interactive AI Horse Selection Stations let you test your intuition, compare data or even run virtual races.
Head upstairs to 4/F IZAKAYA, a more intimate sit-down restaurant offering set menus, à la carte options and fine drinks – all with trackside views.
Both floors are fully open to the public, with prices ranging from HK$100 for an entry-level experience to HK$600 for a major-race set menu, depending on the raceday.

Beyond dining, Genso invites guests to play and discover. On 3M/F Genso Snap, you’ll find AR and AI-powered photo booths that turn selfies into racing-themed keepsakes – perfect for sharing online. Then, climb to 4M/F Maze Race, where visitors solve puzzles based on Hong Kong’s legendary horses to unlock access to the Gensoverse, a stunning XR simulation that lets you take a virtual ride in the saddle.
Finish at 4/F Genso Isle, a calm, art-filled space with horse-themed installations and a spectacular open balcony overlooking the home straight. With high-speed Wi-Fi, multilingual commentary, and a casual dress code, Genso is as friendly as it is futuristic – a must-see, highly Instagrammable addition to any Hong Kong itinerary.
